We Are Stronger Together: #GivingTuesdayNow

New Horizon Community Care continues to serve our community by offering behavioral health services, food assistance, and other support to the most vulnerable populations in Arizona. We are a 501(c)(3) nonprofit and as such rely on donations from community heroes like you to continue our mission to serve, influence, and empower others to reach their full potential. Together, we can make a difference. Join us in participating in #GivingTuesdayNow!

#GivingTuesdayNow is a global day of giving and unity, set to take place on May 5th, 2020 as an emergency response to the unprecedented need caused by COVID-19. The day is designed to drive an influx of generosity, citizen engagement, business and philanthropy activation, and support for communities and nonprofits around the world. At a time when we are all experiencing the pandemic, generosity is what brings people of all races, faiths, and political views together across the globe. Generosity gives everyone power to make a positive change in the lives of others and is a fundamental value anyone can act on. It’s a day for everyone around the world to stand together and give back in all ways, no matter who or where we are.

“As a global community, we can mourn this moment of extreme crisis while also finding the opportunity to support one another. We each have the power to make an impact with acts of generosity, no matter how small, and to ensure the sustainability of organizations and services that are crucial to the care and support of our communities.”

Asha Curran, CEO of GivingTuesday

New Horizon Community Care has been severely impacted by the COVID-19 outbreak. We have lost most of our funding after suspending our outpatient programming. Our clinicians continue to provide services to remaining outpatient clients remotely, and our residential homes are still operating. These kids are living in our homes because their parents have lost parental rights, they are undergoing medical or behavioral treatment, or they have been court ordered. Running residential and outpatient treatment programs, on a good day, presents many operational and financial challenges. This has become increasingly challenging with the current situation. Ensuring that these kids and adults keep receiving our services is essential.

Your #GivingTuesdayNow donations will provide more food assistance to the families we serve, cover the cost of food and hygiene supplies for the kiddos in our homes, and provide enrichment opportunities to aid in their healing.

If you are not able to donate, you can help us fund-raise by creating a fundraiser on Facebook, adding a donation button in your Instagram story, or creating a fundraising page on Give Lively. We are also accepting food donations. Even a simple act of sharing our posts on Facebook and Instagram makes a difference!
